Surviving Minnesota!

Ralphie, sorry to read of your issues with the new mower. I bought a new one last year as well. I was tempted to buy a zero turn but instead got a Cub Cadet tractor type.
It is not built as tough as the old John Deere but none of them are including Deere.
I must say I have been very happy with it. It has a tighter turning radius than the old Deere and is considerably more fuel efficient. It has cut my mowing time noticeably, and that is welcome when mowing over two acres of grass.
Hope the fungus hunting goes well for you, assuming you are not incarcerated for assaulting some Runnings employees.

I have survived the "Runnings" episode. I am not happy but am willing to see what happens.

The manager was 12 years old and she had no idea what to do. The guy in the lawn department was more helpful but it started badly..

He said " well you should alway check your lug nuts before driving".....

I asked him when he last checked the lugnuts on his car....Conversation ended at that point...

They both claim the mower come completely assembled......I asked if finger tight bolts is completely assembled....

I then asked which other bolts and nuts I should re-tightened before using because there is no listing in the instruction manual...

They have ordered me a new wheel and hub assembly...I told them if I did not get it I would be returning the entire mower and shopping elsewhere in the future..

A fleet farm is building about 4 blocks from them, so not much threatening is needed. I think they are slightly afraid of their future next to fleetfarm.

Ralphie, in my experience Fleet Farm is not a threat to other competitors as relates to pricing, but they do have a much larger inventory of merchandise than most.

I am luke warm as relates to L&M Supply, but that is where I purchased my mower.
The young man that assembled and test operated the mower actually gave my wife and I a short course in operation and maintenance, which was very good in my opinion.

I know you've all been on pins and needles waiting for my update. Beginning coop build today.

I'm putting in a small section of translucent material on the roof as a skylight. Any thoughts on clear or slightly tinted?

Thanks!

Official results in from state fair. I am still extremely confused with it:confused: I thought they were going by variety but apparently they were going by Cock, Cockerel, Hen, and Pullet classes

So the cockerel got "Reserve of Division" so Reserve Asiatic, and Reserve in the cockerel class, and then my pullet got Reserve of Class so reserve of the pullet class
Still happy with the results

When I think of the clear roof I think that it might be heated by the sun easily in the summer. Idk...too warm like a green house...?

Holms congratulations to you. . Good choice on selecting Destiny's birds too btw. You kids got the inside scoop being on this thread I think... idk...lol

Went blue berry picking with mil. The bushes were waist tall and they gave you stools for getting underneath. Just gorgeous clumps of berries. Easy picking. Thanks for the tip Becky! Erli bird.
