Surviving Minnesota!

Got stung by a wasp on the arm last night... Now it's all swerved up and hurts like hades... I'm only mildly allergic so as long as I don't get stung on the face or neck I'm fine...
It won't be long before you and Ralphie should get adjoining rooms at the local hospital.... I would then divert my prayers to the nurses. :lau:lau

Take care!

Good morning! Little sore today since I tackled all of the pens yesterday finally. Its sprinkling right now and supposed to have thunderstorms all day. My flowers are loving it!

Yikes Ralphie.... I wonder what crud is going around lately. I have a couple friends of mine down here with pneumonia too. One of them is a 21 year old kid with heart problems. He went in last Tuesday for a checkup and his heart rate was 240 so they flew him to Rochester. By Thursday they were starting him on meds for pneumonia too and they finally released him on Monday. Even at our school's open house last night, I heard so many kids hacking up lungs. I have asthma so am really prone to getting bronchitis really easy too. Its not like a cold where you are over it in a week....

As I'm looking through my growout pens, I have a TON of emerging silkie cockerels. Good lord, its the year for roosters.... Its weird...the peafowl are still laying a bit. My males have all dropped their tails so nothing will be fertile anyways. Now that my incubator is off, of course the birds that I waited on all winter are laying now.

If you really want to get rid of birds, there is a swap in New Ulm on Saturday morning (19th) at 8am at fairgrounds. Its a smaller one, but sales are usually decent. There's a HUGE one down in Waverly IA on Sept. 9-10th.

RALPHIE!!!!
I'm so glad you are above the ground! I was just going to do that BIG capital Letter Ralphie in search of you today.
Well now I know. Hope you are on the mend and doing your deep breathing exercises. Use that little plastic puffer machine they sent home with you. :)
We are cool and misty up in the Northwoods. The grass loves that weather too. Birds not so much. I imagine my covered porch is covered in bird shelac and molting feathers and maybe a few warm bodies at that.
50 plus chicks pretty much polluting the shavings in the brooder everyday. They will go back to Jerry tonight as I need to inspect his work out at the cabin construction. ;) and he is getting all his vehicles ready for Illinois. As I was talking to Janet his DW I could hear the planer going off. I think Janet has had her fill of noise of the planer. LOL. I would too. But no doubt it will be a gorgeous hand hewn cabin. No ply wood sub floor. Gorgeous native timber boards for sub floor. Wowsers.
Can't wait to see it...even though its the sub floor!

Car is in the shop. Need to run for groceries after work for camping. Then pack the chicks, chat with Jerry, then back to loading the camper with 4 days worth of shtuff.

That's my day in a nutshell. I'll be reading to catch up.

I know I am a whiner today, but my day is brighter....

I just went down and checked my hatch that should start tonight..As some of you know I do not subscribe to the candle often club theory.....

I have 2 new toads and 2 new legbars.

One boy and one girl on the legbars.....The boy is the one I am most excited about. I will be very curious to see the color of the girl too. I am trying to breed the "rust" color out of my girls...

Hi Ralphie!! :frow
I hope you start feeling better real soon :hugs
I went to Dayton and back Saturday, thought of you and Judy as I drove by on 169.
I never thought class action suits were a good deal either... xcept for the lawyers.
A nice stroll through the woods looking for shrooms will be good for you :)

I've got the chicks yet tonight. Changed bedding tonight even though it will be one night on these shavings. Going to bring them out in the morning instead. DD and I finally counted them. 55. Lol. They are so sweet in their swarm. Eat drink preen sleep. I've added merricks to the midnight snack water tonight. Get them electrolyte as a day's travel to Illinois might be stressful. They are testing their wing feathers in the brooder. Jumping and hopping about.
We are about packed.
