Surviving Minnesota!

Good morning all :

Tfred my PC's were already laying when I got them but about 20 weeks or so they should start.

Yesterday I took all the pine shavings from the coop and put them in the run and then new fresh shavings- large flake, in the coop. Half the silly girls were afraid to go inside last night they didn't want to walk on the new stuff. I went in the coop and sweet talked them in.
Lately the pine shavings around here that say medium flake are more like tiny sawdust flake so I picked up some large flake from Tractor Supply.

Peeps that sell eggs, I have a question. When you have small pullet eggs do you lower the price?

Morning . Safe trip home . Fresh tomatoes and cucumbers waiting to be picked . I had some last night . Garden is a jungle . Grass needs mowed . I tried to give BC some chicks . Next trip when I can sex them . She is smarter after the last batch of chicks were heavy on cockerels . She has been so good to me . I owe her some chicks for chick sitting . Now that I know how few tomatoes the tundra gets I will have to gift her some fresh produce .

Tfred, yes anytime now.
Ralphie, hope you recover soon. when the lungs do not work properly a person has big problems.
Layers, an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. As someone who is living with the complications caused by years of neglecting the body playing sports, I can tell you that the price is paid in later years to a greater degree than when young and unafraid.
BC, surely you were tempted to talk Jerry out of a few of those chicks ?

Thanks, and you are so right on you pay later for the fun you have now as a kid (kid defined as anyone under 45)...

Ivie and discussed the way things really start fall apart after 60.

tfred... They should lay soon the combs should be getting red they will lay within a week to 10 days of the bright red.

LOL Ralphie - yes we agreed on falling apart. We remembered how fast the reading glasses happened. Within a couple of months and bam! Can't read close up or fine print anymore. Thankfully other changes are a little longer in progressing.
Its raining or I would be screwing some sheathing I picked up this morning, onto the coop.

Remembering back a few days when BC said she was cutting the cord.

We did it today Dish TV does not make it easy to quit.

When they finally realize you will not give in and stay with them, they start the cancellation process. Then the charge 12 buck a box for every box they send you to return the equipment in.

For us it was $36 dollars ...Oh and the $480 credit they told us we had when they were trying to stop us from leaving cannot be applied towards "equipment return".......

Or we could pay the Dish guy that drives buy daily $50 to stop and pick it up.

Then at the end they hit us with another "termination" fee...

I am thinking of running a chicken service based on their methods.

Break down of chick fees:

Egg transportation fee--- $2
