Surviving Minnesota!

Nice to see you back @KlopKlop! House looks good.

We survived the weekend with all the out of town guests. Day two of school is going ok for us here. Can't wait for the flow of the routine to return around here.

Had to unexpectedly send one of the cows to freezer camp. She would get out constantly under the fence. was tearing the whole thing to bits and showing her daughter how to. Off she went on Sunday. Watching the daughter closely to see what she is gonna do now that her momma is gone. Stay put or want a trip to camp. Just when I thought things were going smoothly the cows decide they need attention. Good Grief!

Chickens are slowing down some on the egg laying. The meat birds are looking like they are growing steadily but not hastily. I am glad for that. Aiming for the end of October to butcher them.

I was wondering if anyone has advice to help out with slug removal from the garden. I tried the beer in saucer thing with zero success. Tried DE but that only works when it is dry which is never around here. Would have to replace everyday and I have 2 large gardens. and I would need a semi load of it. They only sell the small cans at the store. So not sure what to do. They are everywhere eating everything. Can't get them under control.
You can buy poison pellets at Lowes I use them around my hosta plants and it works good. . . however if your free ranging your birds you might not wanna use poison.
You can always go out with a flashlight and a salt shaker at night and go slug hunting! Lol
