Surviving Minnesota!

You may have the pleasure of bathing her. She still won't come near me, she hates me.

Why does she hate you? Are you sure she hates you? Maybe she is just being a little stand offish until you cuddle her more?

If in doubt about how to cuddle I suggest a trip the the Duluth Suburbs and take a lesson from the master chicken cuddler and pigeon racer.

BTW No chicken can hate someone as badly as Knucklehead hates me. If he did not look so darn good I would make him a headless bird.

And mount the head in your living room to attest to your tale of survival?

That is a great idea!! I wonder if I could get TAXIDERMIST that could capture the true hate that bird has for humans...

BTW when I let @MNChickMom have him he was a sweet cuddly little guy. When I got him back he came back mean, ornery and anti-social...Makes me wonder what trauma beset him there..

Actually it is a trait in my PC roosters, while great rooster and really good flock watchers and gentle on the hens, They are not into being touched at all. Even Ed, who came from the famous chicken cuddler, does not like to be touched. I am even thinking of not sending him to Hutch this year because he hates his baths so much.

You guys are just scary, my PC boys are very sweet.

I am wasting the day can you tell?

I have not even opened the barn yet....really lazy.

I have had to wear a Holter monitor for the last 23 1/4 hours I can take in off at 10 after 11. I am waiting patiently. I am thinking the mushroom hunt will give the cardiologists fits.

I am also waiting for Holm to get here. I went down and candled my eggs it is day 11, I seldom candle eggs until day 18.

I have turned into the worlds worst hatcher lately. I have 12 PC eggs in the incubator not one is developing. BUT I will leave them in and cross my fingers I just did not see anything in them.

I am wondering if Ed is refusing to do his duties while in a cage/pen inside or and my forcing the molt has the light time too dim or short for him to be fertile.... Thoughts on that?

I have 45 toad eggs in only 3 seem to be developing. I am thinking too many rooster is the problem, I might have to take all except one rooster out and raise them in a different pen. I have always had some problems with toad fertility, But this is a new low.
Or do you think it is just the shortening of the days doing it?

Hey back :)
Yes lots of clean up to do but I can't and won't use a chain saw and dh is off to work and it rained (Tstormed) early this morning and I hear more thunder :barnie so it's wet and I don't want to rake now...
I know it wasn't a big deal like the folks dealing with hurricanes but we also don't get a weeks notice so we can stock up on supplies before a storm :p

I have been wanting those chicken boots! my current muck boots are looking really ratty so it's time for new ones.
See IF they are the $20 on line and if not - I can swing into Tractor and Co in Elk River for BOTH of you and find out if there are any there for that price. Let me know what you see and what you want me to do.
DO NOT USE THE CHAIN SAW! There are limits as to what we, as the fairer sex, should be willing to do. DO NOT EVEN LOOK AT THE CHAIN SAW! ! ! And the mess? It isn't going anywhere. It will be there when it dries out and the sun shines and the DH is around. That is my HO - not that you asked for it.
