Surviving Minnesota!

Ralphie, were your birds partially or mostly consumed in the pen or just killed and left ?
Were they near the fence where a raccoon could reach through and grab them ?
There must be some evidence if something entered the pen ?
Would you like a referral of a quality wildlife detective ?

Silver Ameraucanas, yes.
Here's a picture of the rooster, Clyde. He does not have slipped wing, that's just him holding it funny after being handled in a most undignified manner for cleaning up his beak. He broke the tip on something. :/

Who bred them?
No clue. The man I got them from was a first time chicken keeper that got tired of poop in the yard and needed room for goats. How he ended up with them will forever be a mystery.

Seemed decently knowledgeable but generally I would not have expected to someone that just kept chickens as a passing thing to go to the effort of acquiring Silvers.

They were 6-7 ft from pen edge. One wing was ripped off, which kind of rules out weasel or mink.

I have straw bales in the pen, I even ripped them apart to see if I had a critter living in the pen. He would be one hungry critter having been alone in a locked pen since July 7th.
