Surviving Minnesota!

Yah the blaze orange stuff knocks em for a loop.
Funny birds.
Ralphie I would so love a turkey. They aren’t very bright as adults either huh?

Well I’m at this halloweenie event while you all prepare for Hutch. Good luck to you all. Take lots of photos.
I’ll be a scarecrow in a cabin decorated as a farm field at night. Gotta bring out my old Sauk Rapids stamped dairy cans and rakes and such.

Only open to Minnesotans. Otherwise Shawluvsbirds could be a contender as a US Citizen. However, I think it should be amended to say IF a chickener is a bonified Minnesota visitor that, while visiting, they are contender in this contest. It is only a proposal at this time open to opinions and then a vote.

I second the motion!

Turkeys are entertaining all the time. I have never figured out how bright they are. At times them seem smart, at other times they are just stupid. The one thing they are is loyal. They follow me better than my dogs do. I never have to look hard to find them.

The other evening I was working in the bar when Judy came home. I knew right away she was home, they had their excited chatter. I assume they were trying to decide whether to stay with me or go see her. They do group think a lot.

Today I woke up and thought - hm m m - I don't feel as bad as I did yesterday. I hope that means this cold is going away.

I am thinking . . . . that IF I do not travel to Aitkin this weekend . . . . maybe I will travel to Hutch on Saturday. So maybe I will get to meet some of you there. I will miss seeing you BogTown Chick. Have fun with all your littles at the Halloween Party.

Are you bar tending?! Or BARN tending? Fermenting some of that corn? Lol

Just teasing.
Well as you know I’m a cheapster. I don’t think I want to feed turkeys. The flock has already started in on eating more feed and drinking more water. That notch down on temps has them in gear on the feed.

Thanks Ivie. I will miss you too. All of you guys. I keep thinking that I will get out of it someday. Maybe I’ll just put my foot down and do it. I would totally go to Hutch. All the leaves are down .its not so pretty up here now.

The leaves are missing here too. The last few days of wind piled them into long windrows. My fence around the new grass (chicken protection) has leaves 2 ft deep around it.

Here is a pic of my EE who I watched lay a brown egg... She is a stunning girl:love
