That was MY winning Cockerel, not the cull Holm showed after he stole it from my pen..

I am home.... I have chickens to unload and chicken taco's to unwrap. The WWD is really happy for me and glad I brought home 3 new Chanticler Girls.

My SS beat out the other guy showing them again.... I only wish I had been able to show Cuddles.

I got my clock cleaned in the Chanticlers. Highest I got was Second place with Knuckle head in the cockerels. I am thinking breaking Mike Gilbert's legs next October will help my placement next year.

EJB That Legbar's comb is a has been. There is no way I will be able to keep that over winter.. I have not decided if I will breed him or not. While he has the color I like he has not filled out as much as I had hoped. I might be using last years roosters again on new hens to try and cement the size and shape on the girls before working on the boys some more.

Congratulations!!

Morning . Good news my knee is much better . Back to normal maybe . I tried instaflex . 2 doses and wow really helped . :celebrate

Jerry, what is instaflex ? I am thinking about going in for a cortisone shot, but I hate to do it. It is not fun to know that when you stand after having been seated for some time it will take much effort to get moving functionally. Especially when your wife is giving you that look !!

Ralphie, congrats on BB with the Dominique. I assume the PCs added were by way of Mike. Was there many White Chanticlers shown?
Surely Judy must have realized that if you were at the show without proper supervision that more chickens would be coming home with you ?!
Were there enough Legbars there to qualify as required by APA ?

Ivie. I would think Charlie Chaplin when it comes to fertility.

Wow beautiful show birds. In awe of the Dominiques. I like the PCs too don’t get me wrong. But those doms have been on my wish list. Will evaluate coop space again this spring. Right now I have a full house.

It is a pill for joint problems . Supplement I guess . Walgreens has it . I keep seeing ads on Facebook for it . I was having the same problem after being seated .

All the chanticlers had deep divisions. The PC's had 9 hens as I recall, 7Pullets, I am guessing now 4-5 cockerels and 4 Cocks. The whites were even larger divisions. As I recall at the Chanticler Fanciers meeting Mike said there were 98 Chantilcer ,,,I think...Old age and CRS sometimes interferes.

I am extremely happy with Hens and pullets I bought. I bought the number 2 hen and the Number 5 hen,,,Which confounded Judy, " why would you buy a hen that placed below you?"""

The number 5 hen had some penciling I liked and had a deeper darker texture to her color than mine. She only placed lower because of the molt having hit her.

Mike and the Judge both said the hens were and extremely tough tight group and the difference from first to last place was not much.

We did have enough Legbars to get the paper work filled out for the APA recognition. We had 25 legbars entered and none were disqualified. This is extremely good news for the Cream Legbar club. There is a show next weekend which was set up in case we fell short. I told them I was not sure if we would have enough, but we did!

The show next weekend is 2 cocks short of qualifying. Now we have to wait a year and have a second pre-qualifier (4x4) then the APA will set a qualifier, some where that requires 10 birds in each division and 50 total....... Then after that the nationals and we are done...So 2 more years and we will have them recognized.

Here is how the legbars placed:

Best of Breed----- MOI,,,That would be me...
Reserve of Breed---- Bantambird

Both were Pullets.

Cocks we only had 4... I had 1st and 3rd.... Bantambird had second and 4th

Hens:

I had 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place.. Holm had 4th. 2 none placers.

Cockerels ( We had a complete miscarriage of justice in this class)

1st went to MnChickmom for her accidental cull...... With a good body on hm...

2nd went to Bantambird....

3rd and 4th were mine.... We had 5 none placers.

Pullets ( justice was restored here)

1st place the great Duluthralphie...
2nd Bantambird
3rd Bantambird
4th went to a person seldom on her from nearby me. 2 none-placers...
