Ralphie did you like that insulated brooder you made last spring?
I did, I am making two more this year, one with heat lamps on each end and a cold place in the middle for them to run and eat and drink after the first couple weeks. They are easy to heat and if the heat lamp goes out I think they would retain enough heat for the chicks to pile together and survive.
I used a "bathroom" space heater in one, last year. I will not do that again, It catches to much dander and dust, too dangerous. I have thought about trying to put a filter in but unsure how that would work, I am making one larger one for roosters with single combs, I will use two lights of lower wattage and a thermostat outlet block. I expect to hear some complaining from the resident female when the electric bill hits again.
To dear @MNChickMom just because a woman we did not ever learn the name on makes a ridiculous statement does not mean Corey or Myself should give it any weight....... We should go out to eat in Foley some evening......With Corey and I choosing the wardrobes.......
