Surviving Minnesota!

After today's egg haul I have decided to sell my great flock of layers. (Ralphie I will sell yours later). If anyone is interested in some freeloading, chubby, ungrateful laying hens let me know! It's a great deal and I'm sure they will do someone good!

So today around 2:30ish the cattle came up in the yard from the south pasture all freaked out. They were ballering and ran up to "Chipper Hill" (aka the big hill by the driveway for those of you that have been here) and they stayed up there for awhile before turning around and trotting part ways back to the south pasture where they all got in a big group and ballered (spelling?) some more. At this point I just went back in the house. Then two hours later my brother went out to check the birds and told me the cows were ballering a lot in back. So we took a walk and all seemed to be normal but they were ballering. What the heck do you think could have been wrong? Do you think they winded something in the tamarac "forest"? Yesterday we found these tracks back there?

These tracks were followed and actually went up a half way fallen tree.

Holm being old and all, I have to ask, is that a cat print?

Did you measure it? Is that your hand?

Is it large enough for a cougar? Or are you thinking lynx?

I think I have a fungi infecting my pineapples, they appear to have a white film on them.

Hopefully it will be gone when the sun comes out...
