Surviving Minnesota!

There is a large waterfowl breeder in southern mn that one of my poultry friends keeps recommending to me, but I can't remember his name. :hmm I know he has aylesbury, Saxony, Rouen, Pomeranian, embden, etc . Anybody know? I can always just ask my friend again...

BTW, did anybody go to new ulm this past weekend?

Lots of great waterfowl breeders from southern MN.... Lance & Sheila Ewert from Arlington probably have the most, Brian Hauger from over by Marshall, Don Roscoe from by Kasota, Cody Haefs from Arlington...just to name a few.

I have found a small problem in my early hatching program.

I said my PC were not laying. I was wrong, I found a 3/4 of a eaten egg shell today....
Obviously someone, and I am not pointing fingers to M Gilbert here,,,,,has poorly behaved hens that taught my well behaved hens to eat eggs.

Now I have to figure out who it is and make life miserable for that hen.... I would never bring a bird to a show that eats eggs, that is just bad upbringing,,,and that bird should be reformed before being showed....It took me 10 months after the last show to break the last one of it......Shame...Shame...Shame...

Looking for some knowledge and experience, two days ago, Peewee, one our lavender orps got stuck between the hay bales and the barn wall (steel) we don't know how long she was there, but she was cold and one her feet was a little swollen. Hannah brought her in the house warmed her up fed her got her to drink water and she was better could stand but not walk. We kept her in my daughters room and she was better today, but tonight she lay down and went down hill fast labored breathing got colder and less responsive. She passed in my arms. Is this a common scenario, trying to figure out what went wrong.

She was small compared to her siblings, a real sweetheart, very friendly. She will be missed. Any insights greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Warren
