LOVE THIS STUFF! - We start our baby chicks on this. Then whenever a cold or stressful snap comes our way, I will give them a day or 2 of this stuff. My local Mimbachs (independent farm supply store carries it for a couple bucks.)

Vitamins D3. Erli. The sunshine vitamin helps with calcium absorption per Sally Sunshine in this post.

My merricks has the D3 in it.

And the dosage was actually 3/4 tsp per gallOn.

I think stuff happens to their egg tract in the cold snaps too. The bloody yolks sometimes after the real cold ones. You know it is stressing the egg conduit in some measure. I can see the egg shell maker being affected as well.

MNChickMom it looks like a nice little company over in Sconny has figured out poultry farms with this stuff. It’s nice. And it’s cheap too. Love it.

Erli there are big buckets of the stuff you’ll see but for backyarders like you and me I’m seeing the $1.72 option. Seriously I’m on bag 3 after 6 years.
