Surviving Minnesota!

For the nature lovers. The Duluth News Tribune had a story and photo this morning of 5 Lynxes. A photographer happened upon them on the road up near Tofte. Speculation is it was a female and four young, although they all appear to be about the same size. Can access the newspaper on line.
Have them here although the DNR would claim they are near extinction in Mn.
Many years ago now when on the farm the Mrs. had an Irish Setter. He treed a woodchuck in a sapling. That was a humorous event. Almost as humorous as the time someone threw a snake at the Mrs. when she was operating the riding mower. Same time frame and no kill switch if you left the seat. Guess who had to chase down the mower. Those were the days.

I have seen three in my lifetime in Minnesota.

Once was near Grand Marais. In the mid 70s.

two other times were at my cabin 5-10 years ago, about 2 years apart.

They are here!

I whole heartedly agree with the frozen egg thing....We are getting frozen eggs too. It may have to do with the fact that we only pick twice a day.

Last night I bought 6 bags of feed, (3 of which were chick start) and the feed store manager asks my 13 year old daughter, "Are you crazy for hatching in this temperature?" She responds, "Watch who you call crazy, I am the one who endorsed Heims Feeds at the Poultry 101 class we offered to the Benton County Community." Feed store manager responds, "I stand corrected, make sure you send me information about the 4H Livestock Auction, we need more dedicated youth like you."

We as a family went to caucus last night....of course we were there to endorse and show our support of the BEST, MOST Qualified leader of House District 15B......Ralphie! This was a first time experience for both my husband and I. Great experience. Kids got a laugh out of some of the people who showed up.
