Surviving Minnesota!

StringBean: Okay that's right you mention the epoxy. I've been looking at that for a flooring option in our basement because we have air ducts that like to fill with water in the spring....:he

So no carpet down there in the plans. From what I learned it sets relatively fast... But first you need to 'etch' the cement to receive the product. so I don't know if that's like a chemical roughing up of the cement. So my worry is ...is it the right surface for that product? Will it all slide down and not adhere...? IJDK... does a person put up cement backer boards?

As far as coverings on the nest boxes...I don't have them and it does not bother the birds. Really -- only if you want to encourage broodiness (and not have egg laying) then leave them on. Hens do like dark recesses for eggs but I can about guarantee you they'll still use them.

I butchered an old turkey hen today.. I bet there is 15lbs of fat alone... She probably weighs around 25lbs dressed? She’s a 3 year old BBB... I’ll weigh her tomorrow...

Oh, sorry. The images hadn't loaded for me.
I have no clue what the purpose of those would be for. Maybe light blocking... but why would they have used siding?? Weird.
It was the past owners...they did a lot of weird things. The chicken coop electrical supply goes into the ground, then up out of the ground to the roof of garage and then down through eaves to the electric panel. Also had a pick-up camper they used as a shed...the pig supply shed has a truck topper as a roof...the husband was a hoarder and cheap so he had plenty of stuff to repurpose.

We used an epoxy on the basement floor of our old house, it has a similar consistency to any other paint. We actually painted the stairs and their underneath with it too with no problems so I would think it would go okay. I just wonder how fast it would chip if used on a porous and uneven surface like plywood.
