Surviving Minnesota!

Hey Holm how are the eggs you won doing ? You may have said but I don't remember .
The breeder decided to ship 20 chicks of each breed instead of sending hatching eggs. I think he said he is shipping chicks next Monday? He is gonna message me and let me know.. He figured 40 chicks is easier than 4 dozen hatching eggs!

took some pictures of the calves out in the big pasture.. They love all the room...

Doesn't look like it but he is already over 200lbs.. Pictures make them look so small..

The Holstein... He is growing great... Beef cows raise dairy calves better than any milk powder...

Black #5 looks nice. Nice straight back. Looks like he is starting to grow into his tall frame.

He is my favorite. He is growing extremely fast. I may pic a show steer out of this group of calves for my last year but I’m not sure...

I don’t like “fancy” show cattle... I love a good commercial steer... But judges hate all the extra leather (all the neck skin out cattle have) in the show ring... I don’t like Angus because they are too clean.. Not enough skin IMHO... LOL
