They are beautiful. The roo I got from you is getting his rooster face. The pullet from MCM is as sweet as ever. And then the Dom is definitely rooster too. So much character in that boy. I'll try to keep both since the fox population has boomed and two sets of rooster eyes are better than one I suppose.
And of course the sacrifices.... If there is trouble though I will most likely rehome one. Our neighbor is getting hit by fox lately too... of course so she is need of a rooster.
I was just thinking I need to get pics up of those mini chickens.
tfred we've also had our summer turn down. Happened last week for us. 5-6 eggs a day went to 2 or 1. The girls need their wormer now and I'll get the two that are laying...later when they take their little break so as not to get medicine tainted eggs. I would say heat of summer also brings down the numbers but also it is their little egg cycle-hormones. Their bodies take a break and build up body resources for the molt this fall. Such a science truly when you think about it. Kind of cool.
The BLRW is 4 this year and she is moving very slow. Poopy fluff. I think she needs the wormer and I'll need to check her body for free loaders also I suppose. She seems to get pokey this time of year. Just noticing how slow she is the last few days. She's a large hen so will check for bumble foot also as she gets that once in a while.
I don't know if I'll make it down. My office looks like a bomb went off. I've got my hours in by then I think ...but summer is nuts for us.
