Surviving Minnesota!

Ralphie, sorry to read of the passing of your Uncle.
Erlibrd, no fist fights will mean your hubby is always going to be right henceforth ?
Batten down the hatches, as strong storms and hot humid weather are upon most. Near the big lake things are most often tempered so that storms usually go around us and the temperature is nothing like that in the Minnesota Banana Belt. How is the coconut crop progressing Ralphie ?

The coconuts seem to be recovering from the global cooling we had in January.

I cannot describe here what I think of the weather in the banana belt today as it might cause me a spell in detention.

We worked cattle all day yesterday, it was 90° in the shade, with humidity over 85%. Needless to say it was awful. The humidity and heat here has been crazy, yesterday I had a fan on the Cochins, so that helped them a lot. The next couple of days it cools down though so that be nice!
Yesterday when we were working cows I found a broody Naked Neck with 3 chicks, and some more eggs under her. Last night the final total was 6 hatched but one had died. I will have to take a picture of the one because it is a cool color

Hey all Jerry is still going to Brainerd and Keeping the Chinese Buffet on his itinerary as he and Janet also need things from Menards for the Cabin Building. So if you're in Brainerd at all in the next hour Jerryse will still be there.

Layers I'm glad you are getting rain this year. Fun to see the photos from out there.

We got a lot of rain last night...

Lost 9 CX to the heat so far... IT'S SO FRICKEN HOT AND HUMID HERE!

Here are the 5 chicks

These 2 are Leghorn crosses

This one is a Leghorn or a Bresse cross, I am leaning towards Bresse because of the leg size

Naked Neck cross

And this red one that I have no clue on. For hens I have Red Sex Link, Bresse, Leghorn, Naked Neck, and one old Chantecler that rarely lays, maybe a couple eggs a year. It will be interesting to watch this one feather out though
