To make my day worse...it appears this is the best day in our future for a while...
What breed is Hoover??
Toad

Windy, cloudy, yucky day here. Which seems to match the way I feel today.

I opened the barn to quite a mess this morning. The pen with my layers in it was open. I had hens running all over the place. Hoover was inside the pen just finishing off the last of the layer feed. In all fairness, I must tell you he was not alone. He had 4-5 turkeys with him.

I have dog kennel doors on that pen. They do not come open on their own. Someone or something opened them. I hate to say this because some of you will think I am just dumping on Hoover.

But beyond any doubt Hoover opened the door. I am not sure how. I think he might have had 5-6 turkeys sit one on top of each other and crawled up and opened the door.

It is hard to believe 5-6 turkeys could get along long enough for that to happen.

A far more reasonable theory is Hoover did it alone, unaided. For a normal rooster this would seem difficult. Hoover is special. I have been noticing him practicing his Hummingbird stroke lately a lot. He would fly up 2-3 feet flap his wings like crazy and just “hover”. We thought it was cute and called it “Hoover's hover”. Never did we suspect he would use his new skill set for evil.

I am thinking I might need to tie little lead weights on his feet to discourage hovering in the future.

Some of you may doubt Hoover's guilt still.

Let me remind you of Occam's Razar;

When applying Occam's razor to this event, Hoover is guilty and acted alone. It is too complicated to accept the turkeys helped him. One of the turkeys would have snitched, they always do.

The other theory which we must immediately dismiss as being completely foolish, is I left the door unlocked. That is preposterous on its face!

Hoover is guilty!
That Hoover is such a toad.

I think the ww has him hexed
