So far we have been spared from the worst temps. Only -15 here this morning, as the big lake has a moderating impact.
It seems that the sun will shine and thus it will not seem too bad at a high of -5 ? Not too windy at the moment, but if Ralphie starts a speech in Orock that could change even up here ?

I was thinking of giving a little speech on "visitors to the rural areas"...
I think we need to require anyone visiting the rural areas from out of state or in the Citified areas be required to spend time here during the months of December,January , Feb and March. One day for every day they are allowed to be here during the summer.

They come during the summer and abuse our area, then go home many without spending a dime........ A person would be allowed one visit of up to two weeks during the summer to see if they like it here..and if we like them here.

If they pass the two week initial summer review period they would be allowed back in subsequent summer periods provided they have days build up during the winter period equal to their summer stay..

This would severely hamper the back packers and hodlums that stay in sleeping backs and small tents....

The exception of course would be couples with the initials JS and JS from the Peoria area....As we kind of like them and they let us soak them with exorbitantly high taxes...


See there is no hot air in my speeches..just good solid ideas to improve the area..

I made a quick run to the coop. I lost a toad hen and a Gold Crele Legbar rooster. As I said the cold weeds out the weak ones....

Speaking of weak, I have decided my normal cards at the Dewey Center in Foley today....Because I am weak and it is too cold to travel all that way....

My thermometer meter and kids thermometer on Snapchat yesterday said -36. I trust Snapchat implicitly. . They had a two hour delay for school. I think in two hours it had got to -33 when they left at 9:30. Things like cars and their parts do not like to work in those conditions. Hard on equipment. Ds’s Fan was still running at school after he shut off his truck. Ran down his battery then. After school got jump but then the truck powered down into limp mode. . Our good friends and owners of the fix car shop went to pick him up with a flat bed. ( Abs) wire was out causing a short. Got it rewired. We owe for a tow and a case of Busch light. Thank god for those guys. Kid in the cold... momma worried.

We had game in ogilvie yesterday and game in hinckley today at 1. I’m laying in the Grand casino hotel now as is the team so we could save the girls all the extra travel. From walker. These non conference games are so far away sometimes. This hotel is a big’un.

No underwear runs for me. Even with my extra insulation I’ve decided I don’t want black Eschar burns.

All of next week has -20 here and there. Good gravy. When will this poor birds get let out??!!

Here was the river in town steamy fog. 33 degree water meets -36 air. Foggy ice crystals.
