Surviving Minnesota!

2 hour delay again this morning. Lock on the coop door was froze shut, that is always a pain.. 2 eggs hit day 18 tomorrow
I really need a dislike button for this one...Get your butt to school early and stop acting like a southie...

It is almost 9 degrees now! I have been plowing snow this morning. I used the ATV... I have given up on that and am switching to the Bobcat now. From the window I thought we had 3-4 inches of snow. Once I got started plowing that estimate has went up to 8-10. The wind is a tad cold on elderly flesh... I need a young guy around here to plow for me..........

My young snow plower is worthless, he just uses my vehicle as a plow and says....”there you should be able to get out now. See you tonight when hopefully my dad can blow us out.”

I agree with you Ralphie. Not sure why they delayed, there was ice on the highway and in the tracks on the gravel roads with some drifting snow. My only guess is that about 3/4 of the kids from our school live 20 miles away or further. Still didnt make sense to me...

I moved eggs into the hatcher today...
5 dominique eggs, 12 Speckled Sussex egg..and 1 I forgot to mark but looks like a DOM or Chanticler egg.

@erlibrd I checked on your turkey he is doing fine and will be ready to go home with you all house broken next Wednesday of Thursday. If you want him before that he comes in a nice compact carrying case, all you need to do is keep him at 99.5 degrees until he pokes his head out..

I planted new eggs today also. `14ss --- 4 dom -- 4 white legbars-- and 23 turkey eggs plus 3 probably not good turkey eggs.

If you count the eggs in the picture you will get a different number. I candled after disinfecting and snapping the picture, throwing out the cracked ones. I was in a hurry to get them to the basement...The picture should give you a hint why...
