Way up here I haven't seen any coons. Maybe the wolves/coyotes keep the numbers down IDK. I did see a porcupine in my yard last summer though. That was pretty cool.

Oh Come On now. Tennessee and around there seems to have more of a relaxed state affairs. I mean they let them put it on TV! LOL. I wonder what kind of cash is passing hands and pockets for that TV show.
I thought this was spilled popcorn at first with some salt sprinkled on the side...LOL.
Right now it is 16 degrees at almost 4 pm.
Coons are a terrible problem for me. I live on the edge of the suburban area and rural now with a huge wildlife refuge on 3 sides. So between corn fields and garbage cans the coons are multiplying fast.
Oh and the refuge in their infinite wisdom to cater to greenies has made it illegal to kill predators anywhere on the refuge...Which makes no sense, the refuge is open for hunting so you remove the prey but cannot remove the predator,,duh
Rhett If I understand that you need apx 50% more milk replacer. I would just give 1 and 1/2 times what you normally do. and maybe make it a tad strong, I would rather give them too much than too little. I assume you are around 15 degrees
So 2 more quarts? For a total of 6 quarts a day?
ok thanksyes, 3 quarts twice a day. If they do not take 3 at one feeding I would just add a feeding. 6 quarts total.
Neighbors tell me it is the bad winters reducing the coons . I suspect they were a nuisance and were dispatched . Anyway the crows were not as efficient at disposal .

I see them dead in the road quite a bit. A guy I work with, a raccoon got one of his chooksHow bad a problem are coons up there . They used to be really bad at the lake . Now there are not enough to clean up fish guts . I now dispose of then in the campfire . Not when I sit around it of course .right in white bear lake, but shhhhh, chickens aren't allowed in white bear lake...![]()
