Surviving Minnesota!

Went out today, only saw muley bucks, 2 smaller 4×4s, 2 bigger 4×4s, one really big forkie and then a possible 5×5. I'm finally off of crutches so we did a little walking it was a bit hard with it being so muddy and then trying to walk though a brush patch on a side hill. They are rutting hard so hopefully I can get one tomorrow

I saw nothing all day.... then spent the last 3 hours trying to track one a kid gut shot.

We finished the main body of the greenhouse yesterday morning. I didn’t think we ever would, with almost zero non-windy days since we got the frame up. We need to finish the roll-up door and “trim” out the storm door, put in my old round bale (I plan to slice it up with the chain saw for bedding—hopefully it’s not as crappy and sticky as some of last winter’s round bales) and fill in the gaps under some of the foundation boards with gravel.

Tonight I have 40 chickens, 7 jennies and 1 picked-on jake in the chicken coop. The rest of the jakes are roosting on the fence as usual... I’ll sure be glad to move the present chicken coop population into the greenhouse as soon as we can, and the balance of the big jakes into the chicken coop.

Cold day for hunting, I don't think it got above 15°, most of the day was single digits and snowing. Saw a couple bucks out, mostly does though, no deer hanging her.
Here is one 4x4 we saw today as we were heading back home... Hopefully he's this in love and still alive next year
