It’s supposed to be cold for the foreseeable future—19* at the moment (7:30 pm). I am brining my turkey in a cooler, outside. Not sure how I would deal with a warm thanksgiving. The cooler is to keep the brine from freezing too fast...

Our snow hasn't started yet. This weekend I am going to try and winterize the show bird coop and hopefully get rid of a cock, and then get the hen I sold to get her new home

I saw something this morning I haven't seen in my 25 years of driving. Imagine a little black Ford Focus gaining speed to enter HWY 15 (4 lane highway - 2 lanes each direction), hits a patch of black ice on the entrance ramp, does two 360 degree doughnuts at the entrance of HWY15 and successfully blocks the entire entrance ramp of HWY 15 as one of it's front wheels are hung up on the snowplow ledge. Next imagine you are the big bad Ford Escape in the right lane of HWY 15 moving at a steady 40 mph and narrowly missing the FOCUS by inches. I was close enough to get the slush spray from the doughnut maker. The left lane was not an option as there were multiple semi's traveling in that lane. I didn't realize the winter preparedness should include clean panties.
