Surviving Minnesota!

Actually it is the FonDuLac tribe which has been studying this and would foot the bill I believe. It has been quite successful in Wisconsin. Carlton Cty and the related private land owners seem to be in favor by a large majority ? There are three large blocks of Tribal and State land being considered.

Interesting, but I still would be against it. Even if the band did it. So much of their money is tax dollars.

I know they have their casinos, if you drop a cup of red water into a gallon of green water..

It’s impossible to pull the red cup of water out again.

I don’t think Wisconsin has the same issues we have regarding wolves, moose, and brain worm.

I would need a ton of questions answered before I would think it’s a good idea.

Right... ‘cause tribal govt isn’t bureaucratic, inefficient, wasteful, incompetent and corrupt like state/national govt.

SD once tried to naturalize moose here, long long ago. :lau I can’t understand why all the meese fled our semi-arid locale for the bogs and lakes of Yellowstone shortly after their arrival. :hit:rolleyes:

I’m just grateful we don’t have wolves like you all. I’m thinking the ranchers who graze their cattle in the BH National Forest would forcefully object. Hmm... maybe I shouldn’t be so dour about having to fence the free-range Angus out of our place. Maybe the presence of the cattle is saving us from the sexier but less profitable wolves. OTOH, our coyotes seem to act like wolves at least sometimes. I watched two of them work in tandem to take down a real nice buck this past “summer.” DH tried to intervene, but by the time he got near enough to go for a dodging and weaving target, it was too late. :rant (I love the little cranky, ranting guy :gig)

My turkey has been in the oven (convection) since 0700 and is now 188* in the thigh and 177* in the breast. I just now checked it. How is this even possible? It weighed in at 38 lbs. :th

It must have been a well endowed turkey...

Roads are turning icy here with some snow and sprinkling going on so far today
Keep it out there!!!

And you better listen to me this time!:old

Here are my younguns today...
E2015E33-64FE-4C76-85D3-B60664C3B1B2.jpeg
they followed me out at a little after 8 this morning...then realized they were stuck in a sea of white fluffy scary stuff.

They spent the whole day inside the area I had parked the van when the snow fell.

They turkey came to visit them around 3:30.

I had to chase them out of the area back to their pen...

I had to push each one, then they flew the 15 ft to safety...

They were not happy with me for making them leave the safe area...they squawked their protest as they flew.

:lau Can’t blame them! You didn’t get much snow either. Mine won’t come out at all
Mine spent yesterday in Their tiny coop..

The WW felt sorry for them and shoveled a path inside their run, from the sleeping coop to the eating coop..and to the waterer...which is right by the door.

so when I let them out they just followed the path and me, but didn’t notice the path ended until they got to the van made island.

Only one rooster came out of the big barn today.

and the 4 toms.
