Surviving Minnesota!

Rhetts...we just had a turkey poultry picture slam on the turkey thread! Dang they are cute. Ya'll need a few lappers!

I've been checking in waiting for calf pictures! She's defiantly getting close! Do you know if she's eating today? My experience is they stop eating about 12 hours prior to birthing.
What is 'lappers'?

She has been eating today. She is chewing cud as I type.

Your hairy coos and Hereford are beautiful Rhett's. Oh that momma is just a laboring and laboring isn't she?! I can't imagine. They have so much strength.

Beautiful new 2-3 inches of snow here.

Rhetts...we developed a system to classify turkey temperament.

Lapper = Lap Turkey. A turkey that seeks out human contact. Sitting on laps is a common trait.

Tolerant Turkey = Tolerates human contact but doesn't seek it out. You can pick them up easily.

Lurkey Turkey = A turkey that follows you around, or hangs out with you, but doesn't like to be touched

Bellybutton = Ya'll know what that means!

We regularly refer to turkeys like that.

I can't understand why she would be so dang swollen back there. She seems so uncomfortable. Up and down and licking all the time. I wish I could help some how.

I L O V E S N O W!!!!!!!!!! Freshly fallen snow with out a track in it is SO beautiful. But I do love seeing the kids' boot prints and tracks all over the yard too. :)
