Surviving Minnesota!

I donā€™t think I have ever seen a honey suckle let alone smell one.

With the exception of these that grow wild in the woods, and taste good.

I have never seen them planted in a yard.
That is not honeysuckle. This is honeysuckle.

Both are honeysuckle . Here in Illinois the northern half of the state has the bush type and the southern half has the vine type . The change over in types starts around Springfield IL . The vine type will grow in the northern part of the state but does not thrive and become invasive .

Itā€™s 38 down here in southern mn. Real feel says 32. Itā€™s very wet out from the rain, but doesnā€™t like like we got frost.
So happy we got some decent rain. Itā€™s been way too dry. I saw multiple dust devils while running errands on Tuesday.

The picture of a flower Ralphie posted is wild columbine.

Yes I have it growing here . The domestic type is native to Europe . I prefer the native U.S.A . The invasive bush honeysuckle is in bloom here . The vine type will strangle small trees making a corkscrew pattern . Often used for walking sticks or canes . I will have to get a pic of the one I have .
