Surviving Minnesota!

So I been watching fishing videos for new ideas . These ideas are not legal in MN . Chum , lights at night one guy sprays WD40 on his lure . I think I will try minnows and some different lures . I have not used minnows in years . Jigs always got me enough fish with less trouble . Leeches are a go to sometimes . At spawn I prefer wax worms . It rained yesterday and was wet today . So I watched videos .

I used WD 40 in desperation. ....on a white with blk spots and a red feather spinner ... Caught a catfish

WD 40 is a great bar lure, but it has never helped me catch a fish.

I have used the fish attractants, they work as well as WD40 doesn’t. Unless the fish is attracted to black licorice.

I prefer live bait for most fish.

I will use rappalas and mr twister tails in walleye.

Northerns and bass almost always get steel or wood thrown at them.

I will troll with small rappalas for sunfish, crappies, northerns and walleyes. I might catch a bass but you have to be blind, dead missing the sense of smell and taste to eat a bass in the summer.

Coons got all my pears this year . No chickens so I did not thin the coons out . Here are some branched coneflowers . A native wildflower . A little hard to start in new places . I harvest lots of seeds and scatter them in a new place . Starting in seed flats failed . I think they need to go through the winter to germinate . Trying to get some growing at the cabin . I had 1 grow . I will just keep sowing more seed . They are native to MN also .

butt sweat is about as lovely as middle of your chest sweat for us ladies :)

fish here with leaches and worms, seem to do ok with pan fish but not much of anything else. We even took the basket last week and got one keeper size, boo.

raining here for the last couple days as well, but same dug in the garden a big and was only wet a couple inches down, crazy. but the chicken run is wet, so that makes a mess for the feathered feet breeds.
