My science teacher just hatched his chicks for this year in his room at the school and I come in and watch them in the Morning, when I have his class, and right after school. I know him well enough that he had me help him move them over to the brooder that I had brought over for him to put them in from the incubator. He trusts me more than anyone not to drop them

Did it get easier for you ?

I stopped watching the temp as much, so the first 18 days aren't as stressful for me. But I'm still pretty watchful during lock down and especially when they start hatching. I pretty much neglect everything else going on! Lol

I last hatched 24 BCMs in October. That stressed me out because I never hatched such a dark egg before. I went home from work all of the time to check the temp. And then I heard the darker thicker shell can be harder to pip. My face was glued to the bator like a candy store kid during lockdown!

I did start to collect my Ameraucana eggs a few weeks back thinking I'd hatch some OEs. My BCM rooster loved those ladies and I knew the fertility would be awesome. I changed my mind and never set them.
