So I have been keeping Rosy and Ruby in the front of the big coop. It is 6' x 4' - plenty of room for the two of them. Tom has beat them up so bad. Also, Rosy will actually hid when the other chickens are nosing around and the coop door happens to be open. She wants nothing to do with them. I thought this area may make a rather nice brood are IF anyone went broody. Eventually I will have to add another area onto this coop as the upcoming birds will need all this space.
This is a picture of the 'tractor' coop that my neighbor built for me. I need to finish it out but stapled plastic on the front portion top and sides to keep it dry. This coop is used for the four to five free-range birds and they just hop up and into it at night. There is a roosting area/nesting boxes built onto the back portion for them to use. Rosy will not free range because of Tom Hanks and Gilda and Helen. They are so mean to her. I give her the choice and she just stays in her own little world by herself until Ruby comes back to join her in the evening.

This is the front of the large coop where the two RIR are now. It is my intention to build to the right of this coop - a broody coop. I would love to make that front bottom portion up to the metal roof and under it - into a coop and take the small coop (behind the pitched roof portion of this run) out and use it as the broody coop. We will see. Ralphie? LOL - I would make you and Judy a steak dinner. Mushrooms and Lemon Cream Pie.
