Surviving Minnesota!

He was out and about, only because he escaped my grasp, attempts to move him. However, my pens are not weasel proof. They maybe mink proof. If a mouse can get in or out a weasel can.

I should go out, but nothing will be accomplished by that, so I will just have more coffee and head out in a little bit. I have another of Bert Jrs brothers in the ICU awaiting the his car trip to visit the nice Asian family. I could hold one back, but I promised them 5 roosters. Judy thinks I should hold one back. I think that is going back on my word/promise so I won't do that.

They are driving from Brooklyn Canter to get 5 birds, so 5 birds is what they get. I wish I could trade a turkey for one but she already said she was not interested in a turkey. I could give her a Creamer, but then I am down to only one creamer and that could be bad. I have that one with the beautiful pheasant colored wings, but that is for coffee. And I have the EE I wanted to keep for my EE's. Just rambling and thinking as I talk to you guys.

See my dilemma? Become a dishonest liar or short myself my back up rooster.

My point about him being out and about was not meant offensively. What I was trying to say is . . . . . I think I best stop.

I'm snuggled on the armchair with my sleeping hound dog watching football. So lovely. We played fetch up and down the steps for a good while to tire out the dogs and it worked like a charm

No problem, I did not take it offensively. He was a stupid rooster! Had he not ran and hid from me, He would be alive today. I lecture them all the time, some just never listen.

I am amazed how fast he was taken.

I also cannot believe he could hide so well so fast. I looked all around when he first got out. I should have stayed out longer, but I was being a wimp cause I was coooooold..

I could be wrong but am pretty sure its a girl.

Are you talking the white or EE?

I cannot tell on the white looks kinda boyish to me, the EE is a girl no doubt. If you look close she is pulling her vacuum cleaner, no boy would do that...

I am headed to look at/buy the grain wagon in an hour or so. Turns out he is only about 8 miles from my farm. I also purchased a cast iron grain mill on eBay today. Just need to add a pulley and fit it to the motor I already have.

Home building may not be succeeding right now but at least farm stuff is!

Go for it,, good luck.. Show us a picture of the mill!

I just came in from checking on my birds half or better are on the roosts. I only got a few eggs today, I do not blame them.

I have two more Creamette eggs I hope they are still alive...

The PC hens seem to have found there place in the flock. One was sitting snuggled up to a EE. the other was back with a few hens semi-close to her.

Ethel is snuggled in with the chicken hens too. She gave me that look that said, "if you lift me down from here again, I will gorge your eyes out". I left her up there. She just prefers chickens to turkeys as company in the cold..
