Surviving Minnesota!

Interesting about the people inquiring about red rooster Ralphie. I think I related previously about gifting some young roosters and racing pigeons to a couple young fellows from the TC area.
They suggested I raise some birds that were multi colored with a lot of red, as they would be in demand for ceremonial purposes and worth much money.

Go for it,, good luck.. Show us a picture of the mill!

I just came in from checking on my birds half or better are on the roosts. I only got a few eggs today, I do not blame them.

I have two more Creamette eggs I hope they are still alive...

The PC hens seem to have found there place in the flock.  One was sitting snuggled up to a EE. the other was back with  a few hens  semi-close to her.

Ethel is snuggled in with the chicken hens too. She gave me that look that said, "if you lift me down from here again, I will gorge your eyes out".   I left her up there. She just prefers chickens to turkeys  as company in the cold..

It is a Wilson Bros No. 1c mill

I forgot all about that. These people were not of the "Worth much money" crowd. They were more like my Mom. Semi-cheap to down right tightwad..

That could be why they asked though. They really wanted a red rooster. Good thing Ed was hiding! They got a CLB so maybe he will be the red bird stand in.
