Surviving Minnesota!

I am..

I have 2 almost done. I would finish them today, but I am not feeling it and I have a dentist appointment..

And I should go to runnings..

And  after the emotional roller coaster ride of going to the dentist, I might want a nap,,,

I have to figure out where I am going to move my Cornish for breeding this spring. My rainbows too. Fortunately my current plan is to wait until spring to start that so that I can use my broiler tractors I think

I didn't have time for breakfast this morning and now I am starting to eye my cooler of eggs that I sell at work. Might have to microwave some scrambled eggs

I don't have direct experience about this calving bit Rhetts. I've been around a few while it's happening...but timelines I don't know. Have you called a vet to run your time line of events physical symptoms by him to see how things are coming?

Here's a little link though about positioning a calf correctly if need be.

Bella and her new Babies when I bring her out of the bathroom she sits right outside the door. If It wasn't so hot in there I would let her stay in there. When our other dog even gets close to them Bella attacks our other dog.. She loves her babies...

Okay. I just love this picture....and I WANT the building in the background on the left there!

Turkeys are amazing.

That building is special!!

It was built by my grandpa in early 1900's. It was on the original homestead homesite. My Dad moved it when we moved to this house, (started in 1890 circa)

It was a granary. Hard to believe when you compare it to the grain bins we had later on. When I was a kid we stored our seed rye in there. It has an attic and treasures galore! My Dad put a tin/steel roof on it 40 years ago, I am thinking of ripping it off and putting a more original wood shake roof like it use to have.

My Folks added a "lean too" to the south side of it, I would like to rip that off and restore it, but I really have to think about anything I do to that building. I do think I am going to throw some paint at it, I know it will ruin the look some, but not painting it I will lose the building, I think.

When you come to Runnings You have to look inside of it. I wood like to make a "summer bar" in there but I hate to do much to it.
