Klops - haven't finished reading posts yet so this is my first response to this news. I hope all is going well with this hen.

She looks ok this morning, the prolapse is smaller but still wouldn't stay in. Tonight I will give her another good soak and try some Vaseline.

Thats my little cousin and "her" little Cochin banty. Its the onpy chicken she likes. Out of the three bantys the fluffy ones were her favorite... Not much of a story... Just showing a future poultry nut... I hope

Well good morning all my chickie (and duck, and turkey) friends! I am caught up in reading. During the posts I was reminded of a story I just heard about LOL. It seems that one mother began her texting adventures with her daughters. She thought that LOL meant Lots of Love. So one day she texted a message that a relative had just passed and then ended it with LOL. Our acronyms! Along time ago someone posted, I think it was on the old thread, what all the acronyms mean. It would be useful, if it is easy, to print those out. Does anyone have them in a form that is easily pasted onto Surviving Minnesota? I would print them and add them to my dudes and dudesses list posted on my computer. LOL or should I say LOL?

I am jonesing for some warm weather this morning. I like winter but this time of year when I am starting to plan my garden and am thinking about spring chicken plans I can be a bit impatient. I've already planted onions and herbs for the garden this year. They are starting to come up too!

Kloppers they say the sooner you get that vent put back in the greater the success. I know you said you wouldn't but maybe the prep h would be worth a shot? 1/2 life on it must be next to a day on it....?

I have been doing my best to keep it from drying up by wetting it with clean water last night and this morning. I am not regretting not rubbing it with something so it doesn't dry out today. This is the big bummer of working off the farm... I can't skip work for my sick hen
