Surviving Minnesota!

I didn't have to take the axe to Phyllis, she had spa day 3 days ago nice warm bath and pedicure. During her blow dry she passed this

and seems much better now.

I still love that picture of Roger, does he still come in for his daily crackers?
Aussie he hasn't lately. Because of the snow I suppose.

But he did walk up to the house yesterday...they all heard me rattling those aluminum cans of food onto the deck...and being smart as tacks knowing that sound...they came up and visited. I threw out some scratch but he didn't walk into the kitchen or anything for a cracker. LOL. He is a spoiled bugger isn't he?

I sure hope you can get out of that "vacation" soon!

He is! Roger has a special place in my heart, kind of like watching from afar my Scouts or Sunday school kids grow up & go onto bigger & better things. Brings joy into my life. Roger & Chuckie (& Lighting) have kind of grown up together. Sappy I know.

Nope Not Sappy. Not in my book. I remember searching BYC for similar freezing issues and finding your roosters and you. Won't ever forget Lightning and Chuckie either. I think you were going to cull the frostbit one...but he ended up on a farm with a big barn to sleep in...? wasn't it? Those good roos stay with you. I know that. We'll have Roger stories forever...our family will. That's the good stuff...isn't it?

MinnesotaNice Growing that baby is something to look forward to. What an exciting part of your life that 9 months. I remember it...and I could have cared less about tropical vacations. Ahhh such a treasured time.

Pregnancy has definitely been interesting this time around. My doctor said I can't go 4 wheeling, ride my motorcycle, and no bumpy boat rides. I was like ummmmm, what am I suppose to do then? Lol

This week I painted the hall and painted the bathroom yesterday . So this is rest day . Not planned but I keep nodding off in my chair . So I wore myself out I guess .

I think those are lash eggs from salpingitis Erli. She might do well with an antibiotic...if you're into that.

If I had some for chickens maybe I would. After salpingitis they are finished laying right? if she continues to get sickly I'll eventually cull. I don't have extra coop space for nursing home care.

Just old they can live here but sick no.

Hi all. Been busy and didn't realize I was gone from here so long. 500 posts!! I did try to scan some (which I didn't get far) and saw Holm's new calf! Very nice, solid looking calf you got there!!

Fill me in if I missed anything important.

Farm news: The geese are getting into their spring mode. They have made a nest and laid 2 eggs so far. Not gonna mess with them this year and see what they can do on their own.
Still no calves yet out of the 2 BILs highlands but should be soon for one of them. Bonnie Jean is growing too. She is starting to look woolly and she is taller. I will try to get some pictures one of these days. The Hereford bull calves are getting SO BIG already. I think their backs are waist high on me already!! Chickens are finally venturing further out into the run. They are so ready for some free ranging the pasture!

Well, hope everyone is well.
