Surviving Minnesota!

Chickens are crazy ! I have a rooster escape from a breeding pen . Why leave 3 lovely ladies to free range alone and sleep in the trees ? He must have got out the plastic top netting . I guess I will leave him for a few days . Maybe abstinence will make him reconsider . Give time to find and fix the spot . Hope nothing gets him .

You'd think he'd want all the action he could get!
My 8 month old JG rooster wants little to do with any hens. He wanders off on his own. Thankfully he's large enough that only an eagle could carry him off.

Ralphie, it has occurred to me that perhaps Ed was so busy with knocking Ole off that he never learned to hop on? What do you think of that theory?
Perhaps he needs some propagation counseling from a Chicken Wrangler?

Hello's to everyone.

Bogtown it sounds like an enjoyable place for vacation! it's only 50's here so relax the work will wait for you!
Holm, so sorry about losing the cow and unborn calf, so sad.

Not going to happen!... I ordered 4 more game bird nets today so I can make 4 more large covered pens. That might help. If Ed and his three girls cannot do it in a 50x50 covered pen. I will pack his suitcase and send him back to live with his original parents!

Okay so I dangled. Twice. They did not like it. According to that method I have two hens and one roo. Interesting. So we will see. Wouldn't that be cool? I will be keeping the SS in their own little run and coop. They will be spoiled.
