Good morning back at ya..
I woke up to a scare this morning... I looked out the window and I thought I saw snow...
But upon closer examination, I found it was only frost. I guess living in the banana belt I forgot what frost looked like.
I hope the hawks find a different country Chicken Buffet fast. I have never seen that many hawks here before. I get the occasional hawk but the eagles and ravens keep them in check.
I think based on my one day of experience with hawks, I prefer eagles, while they take chickens they are not as brazen as these hawks were. I am actually glad Ed is locked in the breeding pen. I am afraid he would have tried to take them on.
Ed is such a good rooster he will fly up 200-300 yards in the air to do aerial combat with a lone eagle. Which he quickly dispatches, but 5-6 hawks might be more that he could handle..
Ed is a super rooster!
