A person would have to have a special set up for keeping ducks, I really don't think it is a hate for ducks but a preference for chickens. JMHO..
Yes I think so
Hey! I'm in 4-h, I've never had ducks, I show my chickens. I think call ducks would be cool to have, why do you hate them so much?
They do make auto feeders for fish / wildlife . Set one up near the water . They can be programmed for number of times per day . The neighbors and wildlife would love you . Might even gain points with the tribe .Because Holm likes them, so I have no choice but to be anti-ducks...
Actually I have no decent place for waterfowl. If I thought they would live more than 2 hours, I would have some at my cabin. But between wolf, fox, coyotes, eagles and fur bearing critters, They would not make it.
Plus there is no one there to feed them most the time, so they would have to forage.
I have another Sadie story. But I'm sick of telling them.

And I can just about imagine you are sick of hearing them.
Ivie: I may be late to commit to you on those birds for late May...so you may not want to deal with me. But they sound just beautiful and are types (egg color) I am looking for. I've committed to taking some birds from a classroom hatch...but if that fails for some reason I will let you know.

yes i ordered from hoovers, but i had to order the first week of february to get them this week. this is a new offering for them so maybe they are having supply shortages? i know they dont breed all of their own chickens. their CX eggs come up from the south at least.KlopKlop.....Which hatchery did you get the Speckled Sussex from? I ordered from Hoover's and they called back saying they don't hatch Speckled Sussex until May.
