Surviving Minnesota!

Noo!! They cant be infertile! If they r infertile Minnesotanice wont be able to get ducklings!

And then you would be doing her a favor too!!!

It is just too easy to take pot shots at your ducks!!

BTW I would look at pictures when they hatch, just to make sure I don't accidentally get one at Runnings.

MnchickMom, I know someone hatching Speckled Sussex right now.

I am hatching 8-10 a week.
I am targeting a hatch date around April 6 as I would need them to be same age as hatchery coming on April 7th. Is that something you can fulfill? - These would be "Mom's layers" while the kids need some with paperwork certifying a hatch date for 4H.

Is your entire flock tested for PT? Are these birds going into or will they have contact with the flock?

I sent you a PM. there are a couple ways these things are handled. I just went through my book..

Wait,, it does not matter, I do not have show bird quality Sussex's they are just hatchery quality. They are great birds good layers friendly but not going to win a bird show on SOP points.

Yeah its a surprise. I can either get buff, Lilac or chocolate. I think I will get mostly Lilac and chocolate though. Buff arent as common as chocolate. Lilac is not that common either. Lilac is blue with a chocolate hue on the neck and breast.

That's pretty cool! Just let me know what you get for hens and we'll go from there. If they're hard to sex, I'll just cross my fingers and get what I get

Their hatch time should fall close to the weekend of the 23rd, which would be perfect for me. I can even grab a few for Ralphie and drop them off.
