We are also thinking about getting some shirts printed for at the market stall. Thoughts?

Kloppers I like them. I wonder if you could do something a bit witty on the back though...that gives a chuckle and then people really will ask.

My god did we get rain down here in southwestern MN last night! It started about 7 and was heavy off and on all night. Thank god most of the tornado sirens went off about an hour east of me. I got home from work about 11pm and did something I haven't done since I was a kid...pick nightcrawlers for fishing! They were all over the sidewalks and poking out of the flower beds. If the weather breaks at all in the next few days, I get to take my kid fishing. They charge $4 a dozen at our local convenience store and $5 if you get them out at the hardware store. The old guy that sold bait out of his garage every summer finally retired. My kid just turned 5 so has a blast going after those sunnies and perch. I have to wait til I go with my brother for bigger stuff.

We had baby nightcrawlers on our cement outside. I should get the kids out looking for the big ones tonight. Our lawn is boggy out there too. And it's soooo cold this wind and rain. Nasty.
I love your lights! I love the Edison bulbs. Where did you get them? DH always wants to know why I pay so much for stuff that is old or made to look old. He just doesn't get it.
Thank you! I love them too. I'm going as cheap as I can on the bathroom to get the look I want. the Fixtures and bulbs both came from Home Depot. I learned later you can get caged light fixtures (and probably more sturdy) from Northern Tool company. The Edison bulbs were a splurge. They are also LED so I hope they will last at $15 a piece.

I have a whole pinterest board on this downstairs bathroom and the rest of the basement as well. but...anyways I think it will all turn out fine. But will have sort of an industrial steam punk flare to it...

Before I forget, I'd like to report that I met @holm25 this weekend and he's not the serial killer I envisioned. I like him....even though he had me hopping a corral fence in my delicate pregnant state =) However, my son now wants a turkey and geese. That's the only negative. The dozens hanging out on our property are not enough I guess.
Watch out for his Eskimo selling snowballs sales technique

This Hen is SO PRETTY, I wish I had one of these

This photo has always caught my eye too. Gold Laced Wyandotte are a bucket list bird for me....

Hate to say it but that has been edited... Alot... Its just a Golden Laced Wyandotte hen who was edited to have some blue lacing and darker Gold coloring. But they are pretty!!
Definitely edited and saturated...but I'm sure this bird gracing a yard comes close...

When I met him I duct taped my pockets shut so he would not rob me blind...As it is when I did a count afterwards I was missing my 3 favorite chickens and one pocket was missing the duct tape.....

I forgot one piece of news!

I candled eggs yesterday for the next few days hatch. I have fertile Toad eggs! However, I do not think they hatch until the 13th. I don't recall the hatch date on them. I was in such shock to see a couple developing I forgot to check the date and just went to have a Mike's to celebrate.
!

Our class room hatch has quite a few non-starters! Eeek! I think all the silkies are good. Welsummers are too dark to see for sure. But NH and the EE's are looking not so great--per my kindergarten friend. Shoot. I told her to keep them in for a while longer. IDK...I don't have much experience with incubators and candling and such. I will pull up eggs tonight from Dixie to see how she's doing. Crap crap crap. She has not kicked them out behind her...so that's a good sign for me anyways. Since I've moved Dixie to the broody hutch...the other 3 layers I have ...have quit laying almost! Like removing Dixie has screwed them up. It truly is something when you mess with the flock dynamic. Dixie is just in the run and a peek through the broody coop door to see her...but they must have liked her on the nest taking care of their eggs after they laid them. Fickle fickle girls!
Isn't that the truth!

I have so much to do, I will never get it done. I am such a push over I help others too much. I need to learn to say "No". A young couple that live between Ivie and us as become friends with us. I guess they like smelly old people. I guess to some of you they would be an old couple as they are just shy of 40, to me they are young. I spent 2 days this week building a coop for him and panels for the run. I don't think he did much hands on work as a kid and wants to learn. It is fun working with them but it takes from my stuff that needs to get done.

Yesterday, I showed him how to change his rotors and brake pads, so that took time. Again, he just wants to learn how to do it. He was amazed how much money he saved doing it himself. I think he said the shop wanted $600 to do it.

I have my friends tractor/backhoe here and I need to repack the hydraulic cylinders, repair the steering, change oil and fix some of the wiring on it, I know he wants it soon, but I just have not had tome to get to it. I know that will take 4-5 days or more to do.

A good weekend on chick sales, I brought in a couple hundred bucks, so that means I only lost a few hundred! The WWD seems to not understand basic economics. I brought in money and she is still complaining. She found the receipt from Martie's for $225 of feed and got all "wifelike" about it. Saying things like " When are you going to quit buying things?".......Gee whiz the babies have to eat!

BC I think we all have that same insurance policy now. I am feel so bad for him, once a knee is hurt, it gives problems for ever it seems. I am also really feeling your pain over the wallet being hurt.

I really wish I knew how to say "no".
A Dead popple lost it's top in the wind...and it fell in the middle of my lawn. Not the woods behind it. Where it would have been out of the way and not needed a chainsaw ever or for a summer at least. Just adding to the pile for Momma here. But since chainsaw is DH's realm I will have to get a call out to the FIL or my Dear Father to come do DH's work. Men's work that is. And while they are at it load up my JD Lawnmower and take it in for an oil change and new battery. That's also man's work. Loading a piece of equipment onto the tippy flippy snowmobile trailer. Wish I had a man with good knees right now.

Like Holm said, very edited. But they are beautiful birds! I have two straight run GLW chicks - fingers are crossed I get at least one female. The Wyandottes are some of my favorite birds. I think it's the lacing.

Minnesotanice maybe u need my geese too

! Lol no the hen is getting ready to go broody finally! It was nice meeting another BYCer!

I'm just glad Jameson was busy admiring your turkey when you said you're going to sell them, too. I can almost guarantee you they would have been hanging out in the backseat on the way to their new home with yours truly. I'm surprised he didn't set a corn trail to the car for your tom turkey.

Watch out for his Eskimo selling snowballs sales technique

Industrial steam punk flare sounds right up my alley. I'll have to swing through Home Depot one of these nights. I'd go to Northern, but DH always thinks he needs something expensive.

I think it was Holms' Grandpa that asked me if I saw anything else I'd like to take home. I suspect he learned and perfected those snowball sales techniques from him.

I know the feeling. Good thing you didn't have any caramel machiato k-cups laying around.

LOL. Mr. T really liked him

Lol yeah that was him. I got my sales skills from him

It was a total accident that I like those. On our way to Ralphs we stopped at Starbucks and when my mom and aunt were ordering I said a Macchiato sounds good but didnt want one. Well she got me one and said I had to at least try it. And I did and liked it.

Ugh. Out of all the eggs in the incubator I only see life in 4 or 5. They have been only been in for a week though and duck and goose eggs take forever to start developing.

Ralph I think I saw life in turkey eggs but am not positive. Those things are to dark!
