Oh Boy, you are so tempting me.

I could sure use some Fufus....... or some buckeyes, beings my Urich ones failed. (bad hatch rate).....

I've missed ya, Ralphie.

Are the black large fowl breeding or show quality?

The Blacks are from exhibition lines, but I have never had them in condition or the right age to show myself. I really like the rooster, but he is missing some head feathers from fighting this Spring. One is an older hen, maybe 3 or 4, but she is a good sized hen, so I have kept her around. She isn't terribly broody either. The other hen is probably her daughter. They aren't Champion row quality but they are not hatchery type either.

I'd definitely be interested in them

You know, the fluffy crested grizzled ones the non southeastern Asia suburban people want to have in their cute little coops...
Of course, I did so poorly with the last 2 I got from you, I might be on the "do not sell to" list.

Speaking of which. I am not sure If I mentioned here or not. (Old age and all) But coffee lost another hen turkey and all her poults to a pair of raccoons last week.

Coffee:
Sorry to hear of the loss.....I think you need to borrow my neighbor and his coon hounds for a few nights. It is fun to hear the coon hounds go to work but it is a scary kinda fun. Each spring they get one or two coons out of the pasture adjacent to our house and coop. Those hounds don't give up until the owner calls them off they are ambitious little things.

I told her to try and find someone with coon hounds to eliminate the problem. Last week they took the Hen and her poults, next week it could be the rest of her birds....The only good raccoon is dead and rotting in someone else's field!
