Morning Chatty Kathies. I am up but lying horizontally until I absolutely need to get up and take DD to the bus. DS is leaving with DH to northwestern NDak to busy themselves with ducks. The northerns are down per the locals they are staying with. They have packed up a truck to kingdom come. I will have the tv remote for 4 1/2 whole days!!!!!

When I leave home I lock the TV remote in the gun safe. Everyone knows a woman cannot be trusted with a remote!

Good morning Chickeners . . . . . .

Ralphie you are in fine form this morning. Are you dressed in black also with a little white turtleneck sticking over of the top of your sweater/jacket/whatever?

So far everyone sounds very spry as we all report in.

Nope, wearing sweat pants and a tie dyed Tee shirt thinking I should put my overalls on and go outside. I took a few Aleve for my knees but they are not working and I am refusing to take the "stronger stuff" today as I have to get the last 2 baths done today.

Then clean the barn, and other chores. Too much to do to be in pain this time of year...Unfortunately it seems this is the worst time of the year for pain.

Kloppers I have a yellow lab that I follow her disasters on a daily basis. I feel for you on those 'little' things.
This morning I just ran her down out of our drive, and then down the township road as a truck full of decoys headed out. She smells the gun powder and sees her favorite playmate heading out, DS. It's going to be a weekend of behaviors. They had to stop and back up to bring her back to me. I think she would have ran down the freeway through Fargo and beyond for that boy and truck of fun. But there's enough dogs drinking NDak water. DH didn't want to deal with a dog on a 7 hour driving trip.

Dd and I have a hair salon appointment at 1:30. Cook a good dinner. Tomorrow I think I'll rent a carpet cleaner. Wash some windows.
Im scheduled for my second job on Saturday. I love it there but I must say a road trip with chickens in Hutchinson was my preference for the weekend. I've also been asked to take family photos of DS's godfather's family. I went out and scouted beautiful grassy spots for the photos. Will need to be out there around sunset.
Will somebody with a camera be very good at posting photos from Hutch? For me?

It's time for me to get ready for first job. But only half day.

Junior is crowing on the deck rail... Love that sound. Glad I have a place to share that...

It was a frustrating night but happy to be done no less. MIL came out and was mowing grass and shot a hole in the new siding because she drove the mower down the middle of the gravel drive way with the deck running. I smiled and said no big deal. Then she proceeded to mow over an extension cord that runs power to one of my coops for lights. It runs down a fence line then goes arial from the last post to the coop so I'm not sure how it was on the ground. Again a smile and assurance it's not a big deal

. I love my MIL but sometimes I swear it's a full time job keep up after her and DW when they get on the mowers!! I bite my tongue and let it go though because I appreciate her coming out to help us and I won't take that for granted. Just a little bonus stress to release

She told me last night she wants to come out tonight and weed whack.... Eek! I might take a half day today and go do that and other stuff myself, I like some solitary work time sometimes. We have a gathering at our house Friday evening so we need to get stuff cleaned up.

Grats on the finished garage!!

I think you should fix your weed wacker so it does not wack,,,,Tell her you will get a new one next spring.

Ralphie - Greg says that you can keep your opinion (the building of a new coop) about small things (mites) to yourself.

He said it while LOL.

ILL - so you have some CA? Have you had them over the winter yet and if so, how did they fair the cold temps? I am concerned because they are not big fluffy birds and mine lay, without a doubt, every single day. A very good bird to have around for personality also.

Lol not a terrible idea :)

I have a call out to the building inspector, waiting for a call back to schedule my final sign off. Hopefully Friday morning. I have 1 door knob to install and a couple pieces of garage door stop ( the rubbery but that deals against the garage door) tonight and I'm ready. I haven't had the outside cement poured yet and I'm debating just dumping some gravel on for the winter and doing it in the spring when we have other cement work happening with the house. Might save some money that way
