Good morning from the stand. I'm on line duty. Sometime last week my brother had a mystery person but their portable deer stand up in brothers wwoods / creek. So I was nominated (due to my ttempermet) to stand guard. They haven't paid a visit yet.

Morning everyone!
7 o clock here sun is just peeking out, I didn't fall asleep until 2 last night...

we are going to head out and see if we can find the buck I saw yesterday, or maybe my big mulie from last year.
When we were driving to the party I saw a HUGE whitetail 4x4!! I mean huge! We also saw a HUGE mulie buck too
My not uncle is coming out and going to be with us on the hill while my sisters and cousin go dress shopping. My uncle also has a pheasant license so he might get his limit out here today. Since yesterday I saw about 15 rooster pheasants

No deer this AM, but saw some pheasants which was neat. i hear them all the time, this is the first time i saw them. Also saw a big hawk/eagle way across at field and was able to zoom in on it which was cool. Heard several shots near by so somebody must have saw some. I really enjoyed being out watching the sun come up and the wildlife even if i didnt see any deer. Maybe tonight.


My chickens are out enjoying this sunny morning. its going to be beautiful! I'm looking to get the rest of the insulation/wall covering up in my new chicken coop converted shed. DW was a dear and helped me with the ceiling panels last night. i held them up and she screwed them in. I love it when she helps with projects like that because it helps her realize how capable she is. She is usually shy to use tools and work on things (some guys might prefer their wives not to touch their tools, i prefer doing things with her even if that comes with a cost) but does really well when she tries

To hot to shoot anything today. My dad said he would've only let me if he was the 'One'

Agreed too hot nothing moving. Except the kid I have in the stand with me.

No deer moving here today . Grandson stuck a squirrel . So squirrel on menu tomorrow . Canned 12 quarts of mushrooms . Another 6 to go . Maybe tomorrow . One batch pickled . Had to improvise a recipe . Next batch pickled improved or tweaked a bit . So not much work today . Had to go in for another blood draw that they missed doing . So while there stopped into prompt care to check out my arm and fingers .Right ring finger drawing down after fall . DW was concerned . Soft tissue swelling pushing on a nerve a little . Said take 2 alleve twice a day to reduce inflamation . So then did a late lunch at Famous Dave:s . So killed a big part of the day . Warm here also . A few skeeters out . Not normal .

Also almost got a HUGE coyote but he went over a hill before I could get a shot. We saw about 5 bucks and 12 does in one quarter mile of our land

i filled my tag tonight. a huge doe right as the sun was setting. I was so relieved to drop her in her tracks with one shot. i was so worried about a deer running off after a shot.

too warm to hang it so i had to clean and quarter it and put it in my garage fridge. what a mess that fridge is but oh well
