Surviving Minnesota!

Just because I am seein ga surgeon does not mean I will let him chop me up...  Getting a new knee is not something I ever wanted in life.  I was hoping to leave with all my original equipment intact.

Hey ralphie try what my dad just had done. It is a series of 3 injections of rooster comb gel. It has been amazing for his knees. He is back to climbing on roofs, in tractors and running through the woods hunting. HHe is in his 60s and acts like a teen again. My grandmother aged 96 just had her 2nd injection and she is walking without walker or cane and is loving it as well.

Well, finally did these two boys in. Not gonna feed them all winter long. Does anybody know anything about using their capes for fly fishing? How do I go about removing the feathers from the skin? Washing them? I'm clueless.

At the State fair a lady told me about how she got that done. She said it doesn't always work? Maybe she just has bad luck?

Hello Chickeners . . . . Almost noon but it has been a busy Thursday a.m. Always is.

I am a genealogist - somewhat. Presently taking a course in the how to. I have fallen in love with history because of it.

On my Dad's side it is french from the Quebec area. Those people came from France to Quebec in the first half of the 17th century. Since then the French heritage has been diluted somewhat. Not too much.

On my Mom's side was English. Traced back to Derbyshire in England in the 1500's. Nathanial Hancock settled in Boston in 1634. But then that line got Americanized also. Adding German. My Mom's maiden name is Hancock - was - as she no longer walks this earth.

I married (the first time) a 100% Norwegian. So our poor three son's - or is it I actually saved our poor three sons' by adding some other heritage into their Norwegian. Like I said before - my used-to-be MIL used to say ' a Norwegian is a Swede with its brains knocked out.' Then she would laugh and laugh. I always wondered why that insult was so funny to her. ????? I had to laugh because she would laugh so hard about this joke. Huh?

@MNChickMom I thought that would be the line of treatment. The Doc said "Nope" They gave me a steroid to start. If this fails which I suggest it will. I have to get an MRI. He says my bones actually look good.

@lvie I love that saying! Thanks, I will use it.

@CuzChickens I think they just pluck the feathers, but I am not sure. Fly fishing is too much work for me. I prefer square hooks or TNT...

You had me worried on the ducks.  I was speechless.

As far as your pedigree goes,,,,,Well,,,,,,It's a good thing you had a great grandmother. I am thinking your Great Grandfather could make you a Pollock.  Judy claims to have some "German" mixed with her lessor Scandinavian blood. However, 40 years ago her Grandpa and I were talking and he was talking about his heritage. He said his family came from the part of Germany that is now known as Poland.

He was a reasonable and smart man, he admitted he was actually a Pollack.  Judy seems to think she can hide her Pollock side by claiming to be Norwegian/German.  When we all know she is really Lessor Scandinavian/ Pollock..

I am thinking you are trying to hide you Polish side Jerry!  Think about it, practicing swan dives off your roof is the kind of thing we would associate to Pollock's or FInlanders......

My family too is from the same area of Germany.

Well everybody I am headed back to deer camp for the weekend of the season. I will wave when we drive by @Momof3plustwins !!!
