Surviving Minnesota!

You need to try a few SS. Fun birds to have around. And easy going with the rest of the flock. When I introduced the young Barnvelders they sodt of took them under their wings & showed them the ropes. Never had any squabbles. I didn't consider the single combs Ralph.

The single combs are only a problem on the roosters. I have not had it bother the hens..

Frozen and cracked eggs are back... I am a house Bunny today. Too cold after the nice spell we had. All the chicks looked good after their 39 degree experience.

I ordered 5 SS from meyer one year... They had a poor hatch so they were replaced with BRs
Might have to try get some this summer

Okay. So how far away is MNChickMom from you Ralphie? If I do a spring pick up of hatching eggs. I think Shannon will want 2 dozen hatching eggs again.

Speckled Sussex, Cuckoo Marans, Dominiques, and then some Buff O's from MNChickMom. Thought about Destiny as well as Shannon likes her Foo-Foo Silkies. But that might be heck of a road trip. I'd have to take a look at it.

Hatching Egg Road trip not the worst thing to do though...

A few days ago I was thinking about how last year tonight i was probably at a prayer service fot uncle Bill. And how many of our family and friends passed away these first few months of 2016, and how lucky we are that no one passed away this year. I guess i jinxed it... Ellen died today, she was like a great grandma to me and she will be missed by everyone. She has been having a hard time for the last year or so, my family was trying to find a day to go and see her but we never got the chance..

Well Hi there Ralphie. I reboot every morning.

The computer. Anyway, I called Windstream late this afternoon. We are paying 64.99 for 12 mgbyte. 25 was 59.99 (?) Do you get that? 50 was 69.99. Tuesday they come out to change our modem and the lines outside to the 50. Our Direct TV is always buffering. So I think we use our equipment now alot different than we did one year ago. For $5 a month I will find out what the 50 mgbyts does for us.

Turned off the light in the coop. The laying is down. Yeah! Let them rest and give them alot of protein. They are concentrating on keeping warm again. Poor hens. Last week was great winter weather for Minnesota. Its how it should be during our winters all the time. A couple of dips here and there so we get about 18" of snow and then bump it back up to what the temps should be. That could be for Dec, Jan, and Feb. Half way through March it should jump to the 60's.
