Surviving Minnesota!

It is very sad when puppies grow old. But it is better than them dying young. I've had both. I wish they could all live forever. My old girl right now has the Alzheimer's. It is getting difficult. I doubt she will make it to, or through, next winter. It is very sad when they are Ill, or old, or both.

Morning . I was in Lowes yesterday and they have berry plants and such already . So of course I bought a couple . My hatch should be done . What do SS chicks usually look like ? My mixes are striped . Back to seasonable temps here again brrr .

Heard some bumping around about 1 this morning . Found DW on the floor in her room . Had a time getting her up . Seems she was trying to retrieve her extra pillow that fell out of bed . She always worries about me getting hurt while working / building things . I worry about her falling .Part of aging .

All the chicks except 3 buff Orps were fathered by ss rooster. The blacks are either barred rock cross or silver laced wndotte cross, the brown chicks are most likely a rainbow cross.

We are geographically we can get together when our dogs leave us and have a pity party with lots of Mike's together. Sorry for your dog's condition.

When you said your's has Alzheimer's, I started wondering if my pup (9 years old) could have it, but has I reflected on it I realized she has always had it, so she must just be stupid like I first thought.

I just hatched some ss crosses and they are striped chipmunks. Little round bodies.

What did you cross them with and where are the pictures?

And I have pictures....You may want to get the kids for this.... I have a half dozen PC's and a Half Dozen Dom's. making the perfect dozen birds!

The picture is not good, but I took it through the glass. I still have birds hatching and have not opened the door yet. I was getting worried these were suppose to be Thursday night hatches. They hatched at just over 22 days.

I have the temps on my incubator right on, but the hatcher is about 3/4 of a degree low, trying to adjust it drives it up or drops it down, I cannot get to 99.5. I am going to have to put a digital thermostat on it after the season.

I did not think the hatcher being low would slow the hatch so much, guess it does.

MNchickmom and Ralphie the chicks are too cute. I have eggs in lockdown too. Some from Ralphie and then some from my Buckeyes and Cochin bantams. And probably other breeds too now that I think about it. The Bantam cochins are probably buckeye crosses since the eggs were from the first day i put them with the little guy.

Morning. Brrr 8 degrees when i went out this morning, and that wind! Suppose to warm up nicely though already 21. 40 in the run. May head up to pine city for a firearms show today, dh hasn't decided if he wants to go or not yet. We'll see.
Ralphie, I'll explain my dogs behavior when I'm on the regular puter, phone is tough...
