Surviving Minnesota!

Good Morning all.

JJ is still with us, I think, based on my extremely limited medial knowledge, he had a stroke. He is acting like a stoke person would. He is trying to stand, his back end gets up but he cannot seem to get his head to work. It stays on the ground.

I will give him a day or so, maybe more maybe less, and if Judy and I decide he is getting no better, I will send him to a gas chamber as an act of mercy. Putting him to sleep with a can of ether. No smoking allowed near the chamber, it is going to have to be a big one.

I can't take his head or eat him. I will cremate him like I do the dead birds. I might let him lie in state in the crematory for a while to make sure the ether is off him before I light it. It will be rough but I think I have to do it.

I have a ton of babies, No idea how many , I am guessing 70-80 in the day-two day old. I have one with a wry neck, I might just let JJ help him through the chamber experience.

Ralphie - so sorry about JJ. He was thee bird of all birds.

Morning peeps.

Welcome Jacie, I'm in Nowthen.

No snow here for me, woot woot! Must have been a pretty targeted snow dance, I'm happy for that.

Ralphie, how old is JJ? heartbreaking this one is..

That breeze is just enough to make it uncomfortable in this temp..

Good Morning Chickeners . . . .
Man, this grandma duty wears a old person out. I want to veg at home all day. Then tomorrow it is back down to watertown for one more day and then there are a couple of weeks off for me while the other grandma does duty. So much fun though!

Welcome to Surviiving Minnesota (SM) jacies farm! I am in Big Lake which considered part of the 'Banana Belt.' Other than wind it the weather has not been too bad here the past few days. And the weather man had me concerned about icy roads and enough snow on the ground to thwart travel. Ha! No need to worry in this area.

Cluckies - thanks for the article about euthanizing. I cried while reading it yet it is good advice.

Ralphie - Happy belated birthday to your beautiful wife. What is happening with JJ and with OC and GC? One of my kitties that I gave to my sister in St. Paul (she is about 13 years old now) is a beautiful long-haired orange kitty. Hence her name became BC. There has been several cats over several years. Houdini was my angel kitty. She would play the game of roll over for my DH. Got hit on the highway. Still miss Houdini.

I am so sorry! That's terrible.

I am so disappointed... O got one chick out of a green egg of yours so let's hope it's a pullet who's going to be spoiled rotten I'm sure. They don't even have chicks at L&M fleet yet... But my mom said "Well you better go order some chicks I guess. You have to show something" it's getting late but at least i can do market.
