I didn't give her them, partly because she keeps moving since I fixed up more room for her but she is young so I should've just given her eggs so she has the total experience.

Must be related to the one broody I have. She gets out of her nest and just jumps in any nest on the bottom row and decides she wants those eggs and not the ones I gave her. I think her eggs are dead now, but I might move her and them inside to a "Private Suite" so she can't find a different nest.

@jerryse I have never heard of a dog proof coon trap, Do you have a picture?

How in the world do those work? I thought I was semi-mechanically minded, but that one has got me. (Looking for a youtube on them now)

We have quite a three of these and love them. Although a well determined skunk will get caught in there!

LOL never have caught a chipmunk in them! Except for a red squirrel who really wanted the boiled egg that we put in there!
