My unpampered flock has started to lay again and are up to about a 50% rate. This is proof that there is an improvement in hours of daylight and spring is approaching even with the wet heavy snow which the Lord left as a present Thursday night.
Speaking of chickens, it is my informed opinion that Silkies are not chickens at all. As Ralphie has previously written I think they are a variety of Foo Foo bird. Naked Necks are chickens just extremely ugly ones.
Holm, although I was not enthused to see the chick photos I did enjoy those of the cattle. What you titled as the last cow photo depicts a very good cow with very good conformation. The brockel face may be somewhat undesirable to some but is common on these crossbreds.
Jerry, as the days get longer and the nights shorter you are likely looking forward to the trip North. The lakes will be ice free early this year and so fishing will be very good earlier than normal. I hope you are able to arrange to take advantage of that. It would also be good that you start your lumber milling early to get a good start prior to the arrival of the Minnesota State Resident Bird the Greater Mosquito.
