Surviving Minnesota!

Ralphie just to be fair I'm not sure I like Erli's puker either but it doesn't seem to be on a repeat gif and perhaps that's leaning towards it...? Lol. But if it makes you happy you can use puke boy again....

And...

Saw 2 turkey vultures fly over this evening . Hey Ralphie let me give you a tip on your Marans . Get Black Copper as suggested . Cross them to your Cuckoo = Golden Cuckoo . Here is my guess on these colors . Someone introduced barring creating cuckoo and golden cuckoo . Also Birchen Never completed getting the eggs dark enough . Black Copper = Brown Red in other breeds . The crow wing family Birchen or ER at the E locus . So crossing colors will increase egg production through diversity . Black copper will darken egg color in the other colors . Create your own line of better layers of dark eggs . Nobody has done it likely because Marans were selling high for awhile .

I can't mine are sold and going bye-bye on Thursday..

@jerryse
, I'd be interested in some lav cuckoo's as well. If you're selling hatching eggs, I'd be interested to know what breeds and price. Just shoot me a msg if you do end up this way.

Interesting. Even the strong layers like leghorns and production breeds?

I get chicks twice a year. Spring and late Fall. Sometimes I end up with random birds at other times because they're cute and I'm weak when it comes to cute things. But I typically move mine out every 1 1/2 - 2 years. I have a few that are 3 and one that is going on 4 years of age. We're a bit attached to those ones, so they get a pass......for now. Muah.

That is an average. So probably more veered towards Dual purpose

Hi everyone... Ugh... Just had the most depressing candling of my life... Set 6 dozen eggs...

Here is what's left... I know what happened... My incubator got unplugged or something cuz the temp had dropped way down for who knows how long. I am guessing this happened while I was gone... Uuuuuuugh! So many beautiful embryos dead! I only had around 8-9 clears and the rest were dead embryos!
