Surviving Minnesota!

Well I went to the eye doctor today . Toxo has flared up in my eye . So back to Z pack and prednisone . Vision was getting blurry . Love that prednisone . Gives me energy and ideas . DW might be nominated for sainthood before this is over . Then maybe not . Customer service at the cable co may nix that . She gave them a hard time yesterday . I wanted to hide . They have been moving channels for more internet . We keep losing channels or they break up . Only the local stuff .

OOOOHHHHHH Jerryse - I do sympathize with you about eye issues. Not fun!

Oh, and I am going to join the rest of the I have a broody group. One of the barnyard mixes I got last summer is trying to sit on eggs. She is not mean towards me yet but she is fanned out flat sitting on top of a bunch of eggs. I can take them out with only a low growl, no pecking yet.

Killdeer is putting on a small meet of about 5 teams on Friday. We are going and I'm praying I can qualify in the 300 hurdles and maybe the 200 dash

I have yet to get a broody! Send all the broodiness my way! I actually have only had one mean broody... It was a BR who smashed the chicks as they hatched. First and last time I had a broody BR. My Bucks will bite me once or twice but thats it. The rest like me enough not to bite me.

Congrats. No broodies for me yet, but my crazy game is laying so I expect she'll be hunkered down on a dozen by May.

Wow..Lots to cover...

Grats on the calf...

Why Lessor Scandinavia Mom?

Do they let residents of the Vast wastelands of the North travel to Scandinavia? I assume you could get in Lessor Scandinavia, they have no standards, but I doubt Greater Scandinavia would allow you in...

I have an epidemic of broodiness. I am at 4 now.

I thought I had broke the one, I let her out and the toad boys tried to rape her. It was funny them a waddling after her as fast as she could run...She made it back to her coop and jumped to the top roost. I though "Great job! She is no longer Broody" Ten minutes later she was doing the pancake in a nest box, so she is back in the cooler.

The Speckled sussex is in a box with 6-7 mixed eggs under her, she took to them right away. I gave up trying to break her last year, it was a waste of time. Let her hatch and be done with it.

At least now she is out of the nest so I might get an egg.

I put the egg eating PC into lock up this morning. With her out of the pen I got 4 PC eggs today, I normally get 4-5 a day. I am guessing she lied to me when she said she had given up egg eating. I am not sure when she will ever get out of there. I have no idea what to do with her. I did get an egg from her today. (rollaway cage). She has such great body type and was BoB (hen) last year so I hate to eat her.

I bought a different brand of feed last week to try, Pellets. The chickens hate it, they waste it, throw it on the ground and will starve before eating it. I tried giving the guineas a bag of it tonight, they walked away from it. Luckily I only bought 5 bags to try.

Holm's what was number 6? I think it might be the winner. The stupid Pollack has managed to be beaten down by every rooster in the coop. He does not dare leave the barn. He follows me around like a puppy dog. It is creepy. If I drop something or make a quick move he jumps 4 ft into the air. No, wonder he is a lessor German, he lost every war he started and is scared of everything.

The two broodies that were hatching chicks, one has 7 ( I think) and is the perfect mother. The other has had 5-6 hatch and some how all of them ended up dead under her. I think she kills them for disturbing her eggs. I am thinking of selling her in the Vast Wastelands of the North, They will find her behavior perfectly normal up there.

Lessor because that is where DH hails from. Actually have quite the famous singer in the family over there. Ove Stoyven, I believe is his name.
